But what have they done for us lately?
There's been less than a handful of Black politicians in Parliament for as long as anyone can remember - ok, maybe for about a decade now. There was a triumphant drum beating following the historic ascent of the Boateng, Abbott, Vaz and the late great Bernie Grant into Westminster. They were the first of a few and things were getting better for us as a people.
