"...Labour
are making a big deal over the BNP to scare Black people into voting for
them...it is about time we got wise to political tricks and started
demanding that those elected actually started representing our views" |

YOU
KNOW WHAT YOU'LL GET FROM THE BNP |
|
I
hate politics and politicians almost as much as I despise religion
and religious leaders - that's not to say there isn't a place for
both sorts - probably in the backroom of a very seedy bar.
Both sorts play games with the masses, excuse the pun. Both
manipulate the facts and massage the figures and both slip into
denial when the mood takes.
I understand there was some priests and preachers at Easter denying
the resurrection, which only goes to show amongst other things
religion sucks especially with confused easily-led idiots spouting
gospels of their own making.
Likewise today's politicians, they're no different from a Forest
Gump chocolate selection, 'you never know what you're going
to get'. When Thatcher's Tories ran things way back when, Black
people knew exactly where they stood - at the very bottom of the
shit-pile. Her lot struggled against equal opportunities and race
relations and made no bones about it - they didn't like us and made
sure we knew it and society of the day reflected that. |

Spot the difference |
|
Today,
it's hard to tell what's what and who's who in the political
market-place. You'd be surprised to know that there are now more
Black MPs and Peers than ever before warming the benches (not
cleaning them) than ever before and a fat load of difference that
makes to government policy.
That Labour are making a big ho-ha over the possibility of BNP
success in local elections is no surprise - how else could they
convince Black and minority ethnic groups to vote for them? Play the
race card and introduce a fear factor. Their policies, politicians
and general attitude to Black British people sucks big-style. How
certain Black politicians can say they 'represent' while their
rather large buttocks warm a TV studio sofa is again beyond me and
claim to be so concerned about 'underachieving Black boys' in
education while their kid is safely tucked away in private
education. I would like to ask them all 'what have you done for us
as a people lately, but I'm sure I'll be blinded by carefully
compiled facts and figures, like the snake oil salespeople of old. |
|
Forget me not |
|
I
was never a fan of the late Tottenham MP Bernie Grant, but
when he made a noise on our behalf he was heard and accused of
getting too involved in Black issues outside his constituency. Now
if any of our new wave of Black politicians or even the veterans
would like to step up onto a Black soapbox I'd listen and cheer and
probably fall over at the shock of it all.
If honesty had anything to do with it, I'd vote BNP by virtue
of the fact that it is crystal clear what they're all about and with
no hidden agenda. So what if they're a bunch of misguided,
misinformed racist thugs. One thing is for certain that stance isn't
ever going to change regardless of the socio-economic climate.
It's about time we got wise to the politicians and their
politricking and started demanding more from our elected
representatives - it is what they're there for. |
