BlackInBritain
couldn't survive without the contributions of our media partners
in the form of content, material and support. We're now partnered
with a number of community groups, organisations, community schemes,
schools and colleges throughout the country. Media partnerships adds
value to the site and allows our readers to stay in touch with
organisations that have their interests at heart.
Entering into a partnership with BlackInBritain has its
obvious benefits and gives you direct access through content to
57,000 readers. It also presents the opportunity to get involved in
compiling our; who’s who, a section dedicated to listing
and profiling the people who make things happen, our news and
feature output, and our permanent A-Z reference section.
SO
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
BlackInBritain
is a people-centred website designed to inspire and motivate by
reporting on the ordinary people within the Black community doing
extraordinary things. The site is news-based and attempts to be as
objective as possible, so it won’t ignore the issues and strives
to supply our readers with the best community related stories --
funny and quirky ones too -- going.
But becoming a media partner
is all about you and your organisation, sharing information about
your work, people and activities with our readers. It also comes
with a great responsibility.
Working with our editorial team you will provide specific material
for publication following standard journalist guidelines; this
material will be compiled, researched and written by partner groups.
And your stories, views and comments will share a platform with
mainstream national news items.
Being a media partner is
also about access and delivery. You’ll be able to engage directly
with more than 2,500 regular e-mail newsletter subscribers – and
that number is growing on a monthly basis – plus 55,000 unique
visitors to the site. In fact as our partner relations grow, we aim
to add 500 new e-mail subscribers every month making BlackInBritain
the fastest growing specialist Black interest website in the
country.
The days of coercing local and
national journalists to read your press releases are gone. BlackInBritain
allows you to interact and engage directly with the public you serve.
HOW
IT WORKS
Each partner will
provide specific news and feature articles for publication to
various areas of the website. Every story or item will come with a
link to the partner organisation website, allowing the reader to
delve deeper and connect directly.
HOW
CAN MY ORGANISATION GET INVOLVED?
Becoming a partner is
easy, but you must be committed to the task. BlackInBritain
is community-based and therefore it is essential that we continue to
interact with our partner organisations and our readers.
An annual partnership fee of £500
(annual partnership fee) and a monthly subscription of £25 is then
payable to BlackInBritain by regular standing order. Your
partnership fees allow us to maintain, develop and grow the site to
better serve your needs and that of our readers.
WILL
ALL YOUR REPORTS BE PUBLISHED?
All material will be
published, having first gone through the editorial process and past
our experienced editorial team, who will check for facts, accuracy,
spelling and grammar, length and house-style. But all material must
adhere to our strict editorial guideline – news after all is news
and people won’t read boring pap.
BLACKINBRITAIN
ENCOURAGES PARTNERSHIPS
The task of keeping BlackInBritain
current, topical and a making it a good old-fashioned entertaining
read, is a task and a half, so we encourage others to get involved.
It is felt that by enfranchising all sections of our readership we
can and will keep our fingers on the pulse of the community we
serve.
BlackInBritain
is evolving and now is a good time to get involved.
