SUBMITTING PICTURES

By submitting a photograph, you confirm that the image was taken by you or that you are the copyright holder. You will retain the rights, but by submitting the photo you grant BlackInBritain the right to publish the image without cost, online and in print. Images need to be submitted as hi-res jpg files. The minimum dimensions must not be smaller than 400 pixels. Each image must not be larger than 3Mb. The image must not have text, title, photographer’s name or date superimposed on it but must be clearly captioned with photographer’s name and contact details, including phone number. BlackInBritain retains the right to remove any images which breach these guidelines.

ABOUT US

BlackInBritain endeavours to celebrate the achievements of Black people in Britain. While we do not believe in role models we will continue to highlight the successes and achievements of the Black people who live on these shores. It's hoped that this will inspire and motivate readers, viewers and listeners. By contrast BlackInBritain will not turn a blind eye to misdemeanours and will continue to feature such stories, presenting them in a responsible fashion. According to The Guardian, "BlackInBritain.co.uk adopts a populist approach" to news and all things Black, but who cares what they think. We'll just go on writing it, for as long as you go on reading it.

WHO ARE WE?

Just a handful of Black journalists, who over the years became disillusioned by the way Black people were being portrayed within the mainstream press and sometimes even our "own" Black press. So yes, BlackInBritain is compiled by Black people for Black people - make of that what you will.

BlackInBritain is funded by the kind donations of our patrons and receives no government funding or grants.
